TMC Leader Asked to Leave RSS Training Camp: Sangh Sources
Siliguri: A controversy has erupted in Siliguri after a youth Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, reportedly close to actor-turned-politician Abhishek Banerjee, was allegedly asked to leave an RSS primary training camp.
According to RSS sources, the youth leader attended the week-long training camp at Ashighar's Nuresh More Sarada Shishu Tirtha School along with two other TMC leaders from the Phulbari Assembly constituency. The three were initially served breakfast before one of them, said to be close to Abhishek Banerjee, was asked to leave the camp.
RSS sources claim he was advised to spend a year participating in nationalist activities before being allowed to attend such training. The other two were reportedly told not to visit any RSS programme.
The youth leader, Jyoti Prakash Kaloniya, said he had gone to the camp because he enjoys physical exercise and was unaware of the organization's rules.
According to the report, he had attended the camp on June 26, stayed overnight, and was initially allowed to participate. The next morning, a local BJP leader allegedly identified him and informed RSS officials. On June 27, after breakfast, he was told he could not continue with the training.
The report further states that he had been encouraged to engage in nationalist work for a year before returning. On June 28, he was again seen at the camp's closing ceremony but was reportedly warned not to attend future RSS programmes.
