KANCHANJUNGA AGRIPRENEURS' MEET HELD IN SILIGURI, FOCUS ON AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT Siliguri, June 12, 2026: Darjeeling MP and BJP National Spokesperson Raju Bista today attended the Kanchanjungha Agripreneurs' Meet at the North Bengal Science Centre in Matigara, Siliguri. The event was held in the presence of West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh. The meet brought together progressive farmers, agripreneurs, scientists, technology innovators, producer groups, social entrepreneurs, and development practitioners from the Darjeeling Hills, Terai, Dooars, North Bengal, as well as neighbouring countries Bhutan and Nepal. Addressing the gathering, Raju Bista emphasized the importance of strengthening the agricultural economy of North Bengal while promoting sustainable and inclusive rural development. He highlighted the need for innovation, collaboration, and technology-driven solutions to address emerging challenges in agriculture and rural livelihoods. The event showcased innovative practices and solutions in climate-resilient farming, digital agriculture, rural entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihood generation, and agricultural technology. Participants engaged in discussions aimed at fostering partnerships and creating new opportunities for farmers and agribusiness stakeholders across the region. Bista stated that such initiatives provide a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration, helping to transform ideas into actionable opportunities for the agricultural sector. He also appreciated the efforts of the Association for Conservation and Tourism for organizing the event and contributing to the development of North Bengal's agricultural landscape.
