🛑 International Day Against Drug Abuse: Siliguri Police Launches Awareness Drive Across Traffic Guards
Siliguri, June 26: On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Siliguri Police Commissionerate organized a series of awareness programmes to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
As part of the initiative, Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Purnima Sherpa, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and Subir Dutta, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic HQ) visited the Panitanki Traffic Guard, where they interacted with members of the public and urged citizens to stay away from drugs.
The awareness campaign was also conducted across various Traffic Guards and Sub-Traffic Guards under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate, with Zonal ACPs leading outreach programmes to spread the message against drug abuse.
Police officials appealed to citizens, especially the youth, to join hands in the fight against narcotics and work towards building a healthier, safer, and brighter future.
"Say NO to Drugs" remained the central message of the campaign, reinforcing the collective responsibility to create a drug-free society.
