Siliguri Traffic Police Conduct Special Road Safety Drive Across City Siliguri, May 30: To strengthen road safety measures and reduce the risk of traffic accidents, the traffic wing under the police commissionerate carried out a special enforcement drive across multiple locations on Friday. The drive focused on overspeeding, drunken driving, helmet compliance, and naka checking across different traffic guard areas. Authorities took action against vehicles violating speed limits in the Singhijhora area under Bagdogra Traffic Guard. Simultaneously, special checking drives were conducted by all traffic guards to identify and prevent cases of drunk driving. Special helmet checking campaigns were also carried out at different locations to encourage motorists to follow safety norms and increase public awareness regarding road safety. As part of preventive measures and increased surveillance, traffic personnel also conducted naka checking operations across various points under the commissionerate. Officials said the drive was aimed at ensuring stricter enforcement of traffic rules and promoting safer roads for commuters. Snapshots from the enforcement drive were also shared by the department.
